Outlook 2010 - Creating an Archive

This document will provide step-by-step instructions on how to create an archive file for your items in Outlook 2010.

Manually Archive Outlook 2010 Items

  1. Open Outlook 2010.

  2. Click File.

  3. Click on the Cleanup Tools drop down menu, then select the Archive... option.

    Select Cleanup Tools, then Archive.

  4. In the Archive window, select Archive this folder and all subfolders: , then click on the folder you want to archive.

    • Any subfolder of the folder you select is included in this manual archive.

    Archive this folder and all subfolders.

  5. Click OK to complete the process.

    • If you want to adjust additional settings for your archive file continue on to the next set of steps.

Change Additional Settings for your Archive File:

  1. In the Archive items older than: box, enter a date.

  2. Select Include items with "Do not AutoArchive" to include items that may be excluded from automatic archiving.

  3. To change the default file or location, under Archive File: , click Browse to specify a new file or location.

You now have an archive file of the folder you selected along with its subfolders.
