Outlook 2010 - Exporting Local Folders

This document will show you step-by-step instructions on how to export your local folders from Outlook 2010 via comma separated value format (CSV).

Important: CSV format does not include attachments. If you need attachments to be included, use the following procedures to move/copy the data file to another Outlook client/profile: Office 365 (Outlook) - How to locate, move, or back up your personal folders (.pst) file

  1. Open Outlook 2010.

  2. Click File towards the upper left corner of the window, then select Options.

  3. In the Outlook Options window, click Advanced, then select Export.

  4. In the Import and Export Wizard screen, select Export to a file, then select Next.

  5. Under Create a file of type: , select Comma Separated Values (Windows) to create a .CSV file, then select Next.

  6. Select a local folder, then click Next.

    • Note: Only one local folder can be selected at a time. If there are multiple local folders this process will need to be repeated for each folder.

  7. Click Browse to specify the location for saving this file, then give your file a descriptive name. Select OK, then click on Next to proceed.

  8. If custom fields need to be mapped select the Map Custom Fields button. If not, then click on Finish to save your file.
