Office 365 (Windows Phone 8) - Reply to or forward an email message
This document will provide you step-by-step instructions on how to reply to or forward a message
- Open the message that you wish to reply to or forward.
- Touch the reply button at the bottom of the screen.
- You will then be prompted to select reply, reply all, or forward.
- Adjust the recipients as necessary, then write and send your message. To remove a recipient, touch their email address and select remove. See Office 365 (Windows Phone 8) - Create an email message for additional information.
When you reply to a message, the person who sent the message is automatically added to the To field. Similarly, when you use reply all, the To and CC fields automatically include all the other people who received the message. When you forward a message, the To, CC, and BCC fields are initially empty, and you must add at least one recipient.
Consider carefully who needs to see your reply. When a message is sent to a large distribution list, it may be better to click reply or to manually remove recipients who don't need to see your message specifically if your intention isn't to message the entire list. Conversely, when a message is sent directly to you with another person or a roll-based email list CC'd, it may often be a good idea to continue to include that person or list to keep them aware of the ongoing conversation.
When you forward a message, the message will include any attachments that were included with the original message. When you reply or reply all to a message, the attachments are not included because you would be returning the same attachment that the sender just sent to you. In either case you may add any additional attachments.
