Office 365 (Outlook 2013) - Import Locally Stored Emails

Important: By February 28, 2017, Office 2013 version Office 365 ProPlus is no longer available for installation with an Office 365 subscription. Microsoft will no longer push any updates to Office 2013 suite of applications - complete details.

This document will provide step-by-step instructions on how to import your locally stored email into Outlook 2013 using a .pst file.

Import your locally stored email into Outlook 2013 using a .pst file

  1. Open Outlook 2013, then select the File tab.

  2. Click on Open & Export, then select Import/Export.

  3. Select Import from another program or file.

  4. Select Outlook Data File (.pst)

  5. Select Browse to navigate to the .pst file containing your locally stored email.

  6. Select the appropriate Outlook data file (.pst), then click Open.

  7. Select Replace Duplicates with items imported, then click Next.

  8. Select Include subfolders and Import items into the same folder in:, then select the intended user's email address from the drop-down list. This will import the archived files into the user's email account.


  9. Confirm that the import was successful by verifying that the user's email folder contains the imported data.
