Office 365 (Outlook 2013 | 2010) - Import Local Dictionaries

Important: By February 2017, Microsoft will no longer push any updates to Office 2013 suite of applications. Please see the following document for further details: Office 365 - Microsoft Office 2013 path to retirement.

This document will assist you in the Import of your Outlook dictionary from a previous instance of Outlook. Important: Please make sure that Outlook is not running while you import your previous dictionary file or any locally stored dictionary file.

Import saved file into Outlook 2010 / 2013 using a .dic file.

  1. Open Start Menu.

    • Win 7: Select the Windows Start Button.

    • Win 8/8.1: Press the Start Button on your keyboard to launch the Windows 8 tile menu or hover your cursor toward the lower left corner of your window to make the Start Button appear.

  2. Double-click on Computer if using Windows 7, for Windows 8/8.1 users type Computer and select the Computer tile

  3. Open Local Disk (C:).

  5. Open Users.

  7. Open the folder of the User Account you are servicing.

  9. Open App Data. (Must have Admin privileges)

  11. Then choose the Roaming folder.

  13. Open the Microsoft Folder

  14. Microsoft folder

  15. Open the UProof folder

  16. UProof folder

  17. Copy your CUSTOM.DIC file to this location.

  19. You should get a warning about writing to this file as it has the same name as the file currently in this folder, select copy and replace
