Office 365 (iOS 8/7) - Save a Message as a draft

Best Effort Support Only

This document contains instructions on using a non-Microsoft email client, such as Apple Mail or Thunderbird. Microsoft does not recommend these clients for use with Office 365, and there are often significant limitations in client functionality as a result.

Because of this, the DoIT Help Desk is only able to offer best effort support for these clients, and certain issues may require the use of a Microsoft client in order to be resolved. For more information on Office 365 client support, please see: Office 365 - Which clients/protocols will be supported?.

This document explains how to save a message using the iOS 8/7 Mail application.

    Save Draft

Accessing a saved/draft message

Important: The Drafts folder is at the top of the list of folders in Mail. In this folder, you'll find draft messages that you've saved. You can edit and send your drafts anytime. The Exchange ActiveSync protocol doesn't allow drafts on your iOS device to sync with the Drafts folder on the Microsoft Exchange Server (and vice versa).

When you are ready to resume working on the draft email, tap and hold your finger on the icon to compose a new email (in the top/bottom right corner of the screen). A window will appear displaying all the draft emails you have saved. Tap on a draft email to open it and continue editing.
