D2L - Direct Linking to Library Resources for Off-Campus Users (UW-Madison)

UW-Madison is adopting Canvas as the single, centrally supported learning management system, and discontinuing support for Desire2Learn (D2L) and Moodle. Access to D2L and Moodle will permanently end June 1, 2018. For information about retaining materials from D2L or Moodle, please refer to this document.

To use a direct link, given by a campus library resource (such as JSTOR or Pro Quest), which is accessible to off-campus users, it is necesary to add a link to the library's proxy server.

To link to library resources for off-campus users within D2L, you must use the ezproxy string in front of the link.

Your final link will look something like this:

Proxy login
Direct link to library resource

If you click on a link to a resource, you will get a Remote Access for UW Madison Faculty, Staff, and Students screen. You can use your campus NetID and password to login.
