Grainger Hall
975 University Avenue
Madison, WI 53706-1323

The results of a feasibility study indicated that Grainger Hall supports a growing demand for collaborative learning space. The new space called the Learning Commons Project is a collaboration between the WSB and UW-Madison’s General Library System. The construction renovation will bring the East and West wings together creating spaces with active learning classrooms, a Finance and Analytics Lab with state-of-the art technology, break-out rooms and collaborative gathering space with 130 seats. Acoustic glass will improve visual connectivity throughout the ground level and diffused natural light will increase dramatically on the second and third floors improving mental engagement and attentiveness. Construction is set to begin summer 2017 with a completion date in early 2018. More and more higher education sees a change with learning spaces and the transformation to meet the changing nature of student learning.

During the Learning Commons construction project, the following offices and services will be relocated within Grainger Hall:
Copy Center – Relocated to 2266 Event Services Suite Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Course packet pickup will take place in the Undergraduate lounge room 1250 from September 1-14.
Business Learning Center – The BLC is closed each summer, but will resume sessions in Grainger and other campus classrooms in fall.
