EPD - Best Practices - Editing Style Guide: Photographs and Pictures

EPD Best Practices

Please secure permissions when needed for all photographs, pictures, or other graphics. See COPYRIGHT for more information.

Do not distort or stretch pictures or photos, either for design reasons or to portray technical information. Distortion of pictures affects the credibility of technical information.

Keep ratios whenever possible so that the content of the photograph is identifiable and consistent with branding of the UW presence.

Grayscale is permitted when it does not distort or muddy the picture. Special or artistic filters should be used with care, as they can distort an image beyond recognition.
