The Wisconsin Union Directorate Art Committee is a student-run committee dedicated to showcasing the visual arts. The committee selects artists, writes contracts, installs and curates shows, and accessibly presents local, national, and international contemporary artwork in its four gallery spaces in Memorial Union (Class of 1925 and Main Gallery) and Union South (Gallery 1308). For each show, the committee publicizes and hosts an opening for the campus community and for the public; usually the exhibiting artist is present and speaks briefly about the nature of their work. Committee members have opportunities to take subsidized trips to national exhibits.
Weekly committee meetings are held Mondays at 7:00 p.m. All UW Madison students are welcome. (You do not have to be an Art or Art History major.)
