D2L - Restoring Deleted forums, topics and folders in Discussion and Dropbox (UW-Madison)
UW-Madison is adopting Canvas as the single, centrally supported learning management system, and discontinuing support for Desire2Learn (D2L) and Moodle. Access to D2L and Moodle will permanently end June 1, 2018. For information about retaining materials from D2L or Moodle, please refer to this document.
The latest upgrade to Desire2Learn (D2L) allows you to restore deleted forums and topics in the discussion tool and deleted folders in the Dropbox tool. Learn how the restore feature works.
To restore a topic or forum that has been deleted, click on the "More Actions" button at the top-left of the Discussions homepage and then select "Restore."
This will take you to the Discussion restore page. Simply find the topic or forum you wish to restore on the list and click on the "Restore" button next to the forum or topic name.
Note that the "Restore Forums and Topics" page also shows who deleted the topic or forum and the date and time it was deleted
Restoring deleted folders in Dropbox
To restore a deleted folder in Dropbox, click on the "More Actions" button on the top-left hand of the Dropbox home page and then select "Event Log."
This will take you to the event log which contains a list of all deleted folders. Simply find the folder you wish to restore and click on the "Restore" button next to the desired folder.
Note that the event log also shows who deleted the folder and as well as the date and time it was deleted.
