This query can be used to determine if a student assistant is enrolled for enough credits at the graduate level to meet the student assistant employment criteria.

About the Data
*Eligible Credits-
For Grad students, the total includes credits for a given term that will potentially apply toward a graduate degree and count in Graduate School requirements for full-time status. The total includes both graded (whether passed or not) and in-progress credits. Excluded are pass/fail, audit, and courses below the 300 level. The basic calculation is: For students with Student Type =Grad only. Unt_Taken_Prgrss minus all credits for the same term with a grading basis of NCA or PF AND status of E (to avoid dropped courses).

For non-Grad Students, Eligible Credits = total credits minus audit courses and minus courses below the 300 level.

For students with dual student types, the student type is determined by the higher (professional) degree. For a MEDS/GRAD student, the type is considered MEDS and the Eligible Credit is calculated as a Non-Grad student.

Project/Program Assistants (PAs) and Teaching Assistants (TAs): Non-dissertators must enroll for at least 2 graduate-level credits during the fall and spring terms; dissertators for 3 graduate-level credits. The Graduate School has no enrollment requirement for the summer session, but individual departments/programs may, so students should contact their department/program if they are PAs in the summer.

Research Assistants (RAs), Fellows, Trainees: Non-dissertators must enroll for at least 8 graduate level credits during the fall and spring terms, and 2 graduate-level credits during the eight week summer session; dissertators must enroll for 3 graduate-level credits during the fall, spring and the eight-week summer session.

Courses numbered below 300, audits, and pass/fail do not satisfy any of the above enrollment requirements.

Schools, colleges, departments and programs may establish more stringent minimum enrollment criteria. International graduate students may have additional requirements.
