Mediasite content cannot be added using the plugin
Problem:
When adding new Mediasite content into Moodle using the plugin, after searching this error appears:  “Unable to communicate with the remote server. Please check that the service URL is correct.”

Solution:
The problem is intermittent, so we recommend waiting until the error disappears or linking to the Mediasite content using the URL resource (Moodle - Linking to a Website ).

Drag and Drop question types do not work on mobile
Problem:
When using Drag and Drop on Android or iPhone devices, sometimes you will not be allowed to drop answers on the right sides of the drag and drop background image.
Solution:
Background images for Drag and Drop questions will have to be re-sized smaller in order to work on mobile devices.  Once re-sized we recommend testing on a mobile device to ensure the questions will work.

IE drag/drop in assignment
Problem:
Internet Explorer is not supporting drag/drop in Assignment.
Solution:
Recommended minimum browsers for using UW-Madison Moodle: recent Google Chrome, recent Mozilla Firefox, Safari 6 and up, Internet Explorer 9 and up (IE 10 is required for drag and drop of files from outside the browser into Moodle)
IE8 and Safari 5 are no longer fully supported. They should still work but are not tested regularly. We encourage you to keep your browsers current to improve security and functionality.
IE6 and IE7 are not recommended for using UW-Madison Moodle.

Cannot select the correct answer for fill in the blanks question
Problem:
For fill in the blanks questions, there is no marker available for the correct choice.
Solution:
To add a "marker" in the text, specify the group that you've made options for by using double brackets [[1]] around the text. This means that all of the options specified are put into a select box for the user select to at that position in the question text.

Not able to add additional chapters to book
Problem:
When adding chapters to a book, after you create the first chapter you can't create any further chapters.
Solution:
Editing needs to be on, which is found at the bottom of the list of links in the administration block while in the book activity.  From there go to the table of contents and click the "plus" icon on a chapter to add a new chapter.

Drag and drop question onto image questions will not allow text to be dragged onto the image.
Problem:
Drag and drop onto image questions do not allow both images and text to be dragged onto the image.
Solution:
Although there is a text box input when "draggable image" is selected, only the uploaded image is able to be dragged onto the background image.  No text will be shown.

Messages disappear from an inbox
Problem:
In student's messages inbox, the default view is contacts and not recent conversations. This creates the appearance that messages have disappeared.
Solution:
To view messages, select "Recent Conversations" from the drop down under "Message Navigation:" on the messages page.

Variable numeric and numeric set questions cannot be created when an = sign is used.
Problem:
When a = sign used in the answer portion of variable numeric/numeric questions, the question cannot be created but there is no error given when the question creation page reloads.
Solution:
Do not use an equal sign when entering the answer portion; it is not needed.

The option to add variables for variable numeric questions is hidden.
Problem:
The "Variables" section is hidden by default; however, variables are required in order to create the question.
Solution:
Click on the "Variables" section in order to expand.

Manually graded quiz does not appear to have grades saved
Problem:
When manually grading a quiz, if you select "grade all" on the right side, grade all the questions, and then save, the page reloads but there is no immediate indication that the grades have actually been saved.
Solution:
The grades have been saved and will appear in the gradebook.

Designating the missing word on a Missing Word question type
Problem
When making a select missing word question, it is unclear how to select the missing word.
Solution:
When creating the question, use double brackets in order to specify the missing word.

No option for sending email to a specific group
Problem:
When emailing, there is no option for sending email to a specific group (as was available in previous versions).
Solution:
Groups must be turned on in the course settings for groups to appear as an option in the participants page.
