LabArchives: Mobile apps

How to get LabArchives apps for iOS and Android and configure with your UW-Madison LabArchives account

Important: Before installing and using the LabArchives app on a mobile device (either personal or university-owned), campus policy requires you to comply with the steps outlined to Secure Your Mobile Device (http://www.cio.wisc.edu/security-mobile.aspx) as it is essential to protect university data. 

The LabArchives service includes apps for the iPad/iPhone and Android devices. These apps do not have the full functionality of the browser-based application but include features that let you:

  • Create folders, pages, and certain types of entries, including plain text, rich text
  • Take photos, add photos from the device's photo library to a notebook entry

NOTE: not all entry types (widgets, sketches, etc.) can be viewed on the mobile app

NOTE: the LA docs editor, which is Java-based, is not supported on the iPad/iPhone

iPhone/iPad

  1. Download the LabArchives app from the iTunes App Store either by clicking this link or searching for "LabArchives".
  2. Follow the instructions in LabArchives: Authorizing apps using your UW-Madison credentials in order to login to the app using your UW-Madison account.

    NOTE: To set the LabArchives app to automatically log you in for the future, go to the device Settings and navigate to the LabArchives settings, then turn on Autologin.

Android

  1. Download the LabArchives app from the Google Play Store either by clicking this link or searching for "LabArchives"
  2. Follow the instructions in LabArchives: Authorizing apps using your UW-Madison credentials in order to login to the app using your UW-Madison account.

    NOTE: To set the LabArchives app to automatically log you in for the future, go to the settings within the LabArchives app (gear icon) and turn on Autologin.
