WiscWebCMS - Responsive Template (rst) - Adding and Using a Footer

This document explains how to add and edit the footer of your website.

Footers appears at the bottom of your website and typically contain things like your address, contact information, and links to social media. In the responsive template, it even makes sense to add links to popular pages in your footers, as users using mobile devices may reach the bottom of your page and not find what they are looking for.

Where to find the Footer

The footer can be found towards the very bottom of your website's main page. You will be able to access and edit your footer when you first land on your project and scroll down to the Template Settings.

Editing the Footer

  1. In order to edit the footer you will have to navigate to the Template settings menu, which is found when you first open up your project.

  2. If you are already editing your project, you can access template settings by accessing SmartTree and navigating to, then clicking on Website Table of Contents. Once you do so, you can navigate over to SmartEdit and you will land on the page as seen in the picture above this paragraph.

  3. You will then be able to Create and Connect Page after you Open Page, and click on the button next to Edit Footer. A majority of all of the Content Classes will be available to you to use through the Footer. We recommend first adding a Multi-Column Layout that you will be able to find in the Layout Blocks Folder, since it will give you multiple columns to format your footer in an organized manner. Remember to click on Open Layout Block so that you can edit your columns with more content classes if you decide to go with this format.

Here is how the 3 Column Layout example from above, with 3 text areas in each column respectively, will show up on the footer of the actual website.
