Learn@UW - Equations Created with Equation Editor Don't Display within HTML Editor

Equations created with the Equation Editor don't display within the HTML editor.

You see a yellow equation box containing the symbol  Sigma,  <Sigma>, or \Sigma , depending upon whether the equation was created using the Graphical Editor, MathML input, or LaTeX input, respectively.

For example:

View in HTML Editor

However, the equation is displayed when you view the document within a course tool (outside of the HTML editor).

For example:

View in Content

The equation also displays in the Preview window brought up when you select the "Preview" icon (resembling a page and a magnifying glass) on the bottom tool bar of the HTML editor.
