EPD - eHelp - Technologies - Blackboard Collaborate - Known Issue - Slide Images

Background images on presentation slides cause problems when loaded into Blackboard Collaborate.

Problem: Blackboard Collaborate does NOT support manual background images inserted into slides.  To avoid this problem, follow the method below for inserting images into powerpoint.
  • If there is a background image to the slides and the slides are uploaded to Blackboard Collaborate rooms, there is good chance that the slides will visually unreadable, or corrupted.

Solution: Choose Insert  Photo
  • It is best not to alter the Master slide background, rather just insert images to your PowerPoint slide, adjust the size and or crop, and then select "send to back" so it is behind any text.

1. Insert image(s) to the slide.

2. Adjust image size, cropping or transparency as needed.

3. Right click on the image and push it to the back layer.

    • Note about checking your slides: It is highly recommended to upload your slides into a MeetNow Room to check and verify them well before a presentation to avoid unfortunate surprises at the last minute before your presentation is scheduled to begin.  In MeetNow rooms, all EPD students have moderator permissions to load content and preview their slides.
