EPD - eHelp - Technologies - Blackboard Collaborate - Organize Slides into Whiteboard Page Groups Using Page Explorer

When uploading slides to Blackboard Collaborate, a user can create a Whiteboard Page Group in the Page Explorer and then load the slides into that specific area. This can help to organize the slides and is especially useful for web conference sessions in which multiple PowerPoints will need to be uploaded. For example, if there are student presentations, each student can create a Whiteboard page group with their name and then upload their slides into that specific group.

How to Organize Slides into Whiteboard Page Groups using the Page Explorer

1. Show Page Explorer window by clicking on the more options menu icon.

Show page exlporer window using dropdown menu.

  • Note: Content in the "Work Area" is private to each individual and cannot be seen by others.

2. Right click on Main Room heading in the Page Explorer and from the menu choose New Whiteboard Page Group

3. Blackboard will prompt for a name to be entered in the New Page Group. Enter the Name of the New Group and click OK.
  • Note: The new group will appear alphabetically in the Page Explorer

4. Right click on the newly created group title, and select Open from the menu. From the file picker window, locate the PowerPoint or pre-saved Whiteboard file from the computer to upload into that specific group.

In the end, the page explorer should look something like the screenshot below with the slides listed, not in the "Main Room" group (which is the default for the loading content), but rather the Whiteboard page group that has been created. When ready for presenting, simply navigate to the first slide and they will be visible to everyone in the web conference room.

  • Any content in the "Work Area" is private to each individual, and cannot be seen by others
  • Mobile device users (iOS or Android) have no access to page explorer so they CANNOT view slides uploaded to Whiteboard page groups even though computer users can
