EPD - eHelp - Technologies - WiscVPN

UW-Madison and the College of Engineering continually work to provide instructional software and lab computers via remote desktop access methods. This section points to the university websites that have the latest information on how to use these services. A UW-Madison NetID and password is needed to use WiscVPN.

Off-Campus Users

With a little set up work, all UW-Madison resources, including applications and email, can be accessed and fully productive from an off-campus location.

WiscVPN Services

One way to use various UW Engineering software and computing services from off campus is by first connecting to the Virtual Private Network (VPN) server. This method makes it appear as if the computer is connected directly to the Engineering network. To do this, an active, high-speed internet connection is needed. A VPN program is also needed, and it needs to be running and connected. Information on downloading, installing, and using WiscVPN can be found at the links below:
