D2L - Using the My Courses Widget to View Your Courses (UW-Madison)

UW-Madison is adopting Canvas as the single, centrally supported learning management system, and discontinuing support for Desire2Learn (D2L) and Moodle. Access to D2L and Moodle will permanently end June 1, 2018. For information about retaining materials from D2L or Moodle, please refer to this document.

This document explains the "My Courses" list, which lists your courses on the Desire2Learn "My Home" page. The My Courses list can appear differently for different users, depending on their course enrollment.

Enrolled courses as different roles
Some users are enrolled in Desire2Learn courses as different roles. For instance, you may be an instructor in some courses but a student in others. If you are enrolled in different courses as different roles you will see a drop-down list for filtering courses by role enrollment.

Select the appropriate role from the Role drop-down list, depending on which course(s) you are looking for.

Enrolled as more than one role

Enrolled in more than 100 courses
If you are enrolled as a specific role in more than 100 courses, you will see your courses listed by the most recent ones you've accessed.

You have the ability to use the Select Semester button to filter your courses by semester. The semester filter you choose will be remembered from login to login.

You can also search for a course using the "Search for courses" field.

More than 100 courses

Enrolled in fewer than 100 courses
If you are enrolled in fewer than 100 courses, you will see your courses automatically grouped by semester. If your courses are for more than one semester you will also have a drop-down list which you can use to filter your courses by semester.
