594 Projection System
Using the projection system in Rm. 594
There is a projector and a TV monitor available for use in Rm. 594.
An ethernet cable (~30' long) is provided for network access and is also located under the chalkboard on the left as you face them. Campus wireless is also available, of course.
The controls for the screen are located on the wall near the entrance to the room. Push the red button first, and then the up or down buttons as needed.
The projector input cable is located on the lower left side under the chalkboards. It is labeled "projector VGA". If you are using a Mac, a Thunderbolt adapter is located in a basket near the cables. For DVI laptops, there is also a DVI to VGA adapter. Please return when you're done.
The TV monitor has DVI inputs and so you will probably need to use an adapter to connect.
There is a Mac Thunderbolt adapter attached to the HDMI 1 input cable.
Use either the remote or the Input button on the lower left side of the TV monitor to select HDMI 1. We recommend using the input buttons as the remote is rather confusing and there is a delay.
There is a VGA adapter (used by most Windows laptops) attached to the HDMI 2 input cable. This adapter requires power and you'll need to connect the USB cable to a USB port in your computer.
Again, use either the remote or the input button on the lower left side of the TV monitor to select HDMI 2. We recommend using the input buttons as the remote is rather confusing and there is a delay.
If you need just DVI, unplug one of the adapters and use the DVI cable to connect to your laptop. Please return the adapter to the correct DVI input cable afterwards.
