Learn@UW - Troubleshooting Problems when Accessing Files from a Dropbox Folder

This document describes procedures for resolving problems that occur when attempting to access files from a Dropbox folder.

When attempting to access files from a Dropbox folder, the following problems may occur.

If you experience any of the above problems, first check for invalid characters in the file and folder names. Refer to Learn@UW - Special Characters in File and Folder Names.

If there are any invalid characters in Dropbox folder names, rename them so that the folder names are valid. If the folder names are valid or renaming them does not completely resolve the problem, proceed as follows according to your symptoms:

"Bad Request" when attempting to open file

Error when attempting to save file on your machine using "Save Target As"

"Internal Server Error" when attempting to delete file

Error when attempting to download selected files using "Download" button

File name changed in "Save" dialog when attempting to download a file using "Save Target As"

"Internal Server Error" when attempting to open a Dropbox folder
