Accessibility Issues

  • Primary language not set. Document title not set, nor has the title been set to be displayed in the title bar. 
  • Screen reader is not able to read content shown within the PDF. MS Access has created this PDF as an image. 
  • The link found within the HTML page, which links to this PDF, should be changed to “CALS Admin Directory (PDF, 32KB).

Possible Ways to Address Accessibility Issues

  • Create a HTML page to place the data within and the ability to print. Mail merge using MS Access. Not recommended but could tag the PDF.

  • Headings are not nested properly. 
  • UDDSs, displayed after the station names, are not indicated that they are UDDSs. 
  • Some of the phone numbers use a “/” which the screen reader deciphers as division. 
  • To keep structure consistent, would add “Email” in front of the email addresses. 
  • There are places where many spaces are used. Empty paragraph tags are present.

Possible Ways to Address Accessibility Issues

  • Build a HTML Page for this data to be displayed in and build in for the page to be printed. 
  • Re-test for accessibility issues.
  • Could re-structure the content which would change this from being one page to many pages.
