*Safeware is not recommended for Dell products because we are able to obtain parts faster through Dell warranties. Dell Accidental Damage Service also provides a better value because you are not limited to the purchase price in repairs. Safeware is not recommended for Microsoft products because our Repair shop is unable to do Surface and Surface Book repairs, and users will be able to get repairs done faster by purchasing a Microsoft warranty.

A few words about Safeware Theft Coverage. The coverage is only six months long because Safeware has determined that that is the time span in which most thefts occur. With the assumption that the customer buys the computer and Safeware at the same time the coverage starts based on the original date of purchase of the computer, but the customer must register their warranty at the Safeware site. Certain problems associated with not registering your plan we can fix but Theft Coverage is not one of them. If the customer forgets to register their warranty they will not have Theft Coverage and if the computer is stolen the customer is out of luck.

If the customer buys the Safeware plan some time after the purchase of the computer, the Theft Coverage will be dated at the time the customer purchased Safeware.

Also, when the customer registers Safeware they will be asked the purchase price of the computer. This isn't always the price listed on the receipt! We sometimes run dollars-off promotions, for instance during BTS 2016 we discounted the price of Macs for students by $25. The MacBook Pro 13" model normally EDU priced at $1,399 was sold for $1,374. The full replacement value -- in this instance, $1,399 -- is what the customer should enter into the Safeware registration site.
