Award Management: Funding String

Quick overview of UW-Madison funding strings

Funding String = multipart code that provides full funding information.
These are the components of the funding string: FUND/DEPT/PROJECT/PROGRAM/ACCOUNT CODE

Note 1: the Dept ID component does not require the letter code for UW-Madison, it is assumed.  This is the same with WISDM.
Note 2: some funding strings have no project component, like departmental 101- and 136- funding.

Examples (without account code):
sponsored non-federal project in L&S admin, coded for research.
144-486700-144NY81-4  sponsored federal project in Physics, coded for research (older project number).
