Mac OS - Running AppCleaner

AppCleaner is an application that fully uninstalls potentially unwanted programs. This document gives the specific instructions for running AppCleaner. Click here to download AppCleaner.

Please make sure that your data is backed up. If you are having a computer problem that you are unable to resolve, Get Help from DoIT.

  1. Select Applications.

  2. Search for the program that you would like to uninstall. If you are unsure which programs are malicious, consult the DoIT Help Desk at (608)264-HELP or come into the Tech Store for assistance.

  3. Select a program and then click Search.

  4. Ensure that everything is selected and then click Delete.

  5. Enter your user account password to allow AppCleaner to remove the application. Repeat this process until all unwanted programs have been removed from the computer.
