Audacity is a free, open-source, cross-platform audio recording and editing tool. This page provides basic information on where to download Audacity, and a list of resources on Audacity both online and at UW-Madison.

    • You can download Audacity here: http://audacityteam.org/
    • If you want to save mp3 files from Audacity you will need to install the LAME MP3 plugin. Instructions on how to do this are here.
