IMPORTANT NOTE: This documentation is for use ONLY by your authorized desktop/workstation support!

  1. Log into the workstation as a Local Administrator.
  2. Set Data Execution Prevention (DEP) to on for essential Windows programs and services only.

    1. In the Start Menu search or run dialog, enter SystemPropertiesAdvanced.exe
    2. In the Performance box, click the [ Settings... ] button.
    3. Under the  /Data Execution Prevention\  tab, ensure that Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only is selected. Apply changes as necessary.
  3. Turn off UAC.

    1. In the Start Menu search or run dialog, enter UserAccountControlSettings.exe
    2. Move the slider the bottom for Never Notify. Click OK.
    1. Turn off XPS Services and XPS Viewer (only on older versions of Windows).

      1. In the Start Menu search or run dialog, enter OptionalFeatures.exe
      2. Scroll to the bottom of the list and uncheck XPS Services and XPS Viewer. Click OK. It may take a moment for the changes to finish processing.
      1. Verify that the current local administrator account has Full control permissions to both of the following folders:

        • C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageNow

        • C:\ProgramData\ImageNow

      2. Uninstall and then reinstall the client (as a local administrator).
      3. Navigate to the file C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageNow\etc\inowprint.ini. Open it in a text editor and edit the "Save" section of the file as follows:

        • Remove the asterisk from this line: *[Save] (if present)

        • Change BW to Optimal from this line: Color reduction=BW
      4. Check to see if the issue is now resolved.
