This document explains how to check for un-graded items in the Formula Editor used to compose Formula Grade Items.

It is often necessary to be able to distinguish between zero and un-graded (null) values when composing Grade formulas in the Formula Editor.

There is no direct way to test for a 'null' value if a value is un-graded.

However, you can check if a value is un-graded by checking if the Percentage or UserGrade value is not greater than or equal to zero.

For example, the following formula calculates the number of un-graded items among three grade items A1, A2, and A3:
