Template - Self Study

The self-study provides an opportunity for program faculty to think in a focused and strategic way about the value and quality of the programs that are delivered.

The program faculty prepare a self-study according to the instructions in the charge memo and the Self-Study Guidelines provided in the UW-Madison Academic Program Review Guidelines.

The Self Study Template is designed to guide program faculty in completing the self-study. To use the template, respond to the italicized directions at the beginning of each section giving careful attention to the bulleted questions below. Informational links are provided as track change comments and should be deleted on completion of the self-study. The self-study need not review the previous decade in detail; it should reflect on the recent past and the present as a context for approaches to strengthening the program.  A completed self-study should be in the range of 15-25 pages not including appendices.
