DoIT Tech Store Return Policy

Most items purchased from the DoIT Tech Store are eligible for refund or exchange if returned within 15 days of the date of purchase. All items must be in new condition, including the original box, packaging, manuals and accessories.

Return Exceptions

A new computer purchased that is dead on arrival ("DOA"), arrives in damaged condition, or is still unopened, may be returned for a full refund within 15 days of purchase. The DoIT Tech Store reserves the right to test "DOA" returns. 

An open box restocking fee (15% of the purchase price) plus any applicable sales tax will be charged on any opened item, unless the item is defective and exchanged for the same item.

The DoIT Tech Store will not accept returns of any computer 15 days after you receive the shipment. All computers purchased from the DoIT Tech Store are guaranteed for at least one year with a manufacturer warranty.

Hard drives, motherboards, recordable media, batteries, printers, and printer supplies may not be returned for a refund and are only eligible for exchange if defective. Software purchases are not refundable. Items stamped with No Returns are not eligible for return or exchange. Unless specifically noted, all clearance products are sold AS IS and are not eligible for return or exchange. The DoIT Tech Store will not accept returns or exchanges on any item that has had the UPC code removed.

Refunds

Refunds on credit card, check and WisCard payments will be paid out in the same manner as the original payment (i.e., if payment is made with a credit card, the refund will need to be put on the same card). Refunds on cash purchases must be issued by check. Refund checks will be processed and mailed to the customer within 30 days.

Item exchanges are subject to in-store product availability. It is a good idea to check in-stock availability by calling the DoIT Tech Store, or by viewing the product on https://shop.techstore.wisc.edu/  to see if the item is available for pick up.

New Product Manufacturer's Warranties

All new products are sold with the manufacturer's limited warranty. The warranty period and service varies by manufacturer and product. DoIT can service Apple and Dell products under warranty.

Note: Before you return the product to DoIT, make sure to back up any data on the hard drive(s) and on any other storage device in the product. Remove any and all confidential, proprietary and personal information as well as removable media such as flash drives, CDs and PC Cards. DoIT is not responsible for any confidential, proprietary or personal information; lost or corrupted data; or damaged or lost removable media that may be included with your return.
