ISIS - Class Search: Simultaneous Student Login Produces Error

This document explains what needs to be done if there are Connection and Authentication error messages appearing while simultaneously using the Public Access Class Search and the My UW Student Center Search for Classes.

The exact same functionality found in Public Access Class Search is also found within the Search Class Button section in the My UW Student Center.

Students should use theSearch Class button in the My UW Student Center or the “search for classes” section of the classsearch.jpg tab within Student Center enrollment activities.

Students may experience problems if attempting to use the Public Access Class Search and the My UW Student Center Search for Classes at the same time. Error messages vary depending upon browser, the sequence of the logins and the use of tabs and/or windows.

Avoiding the problem

Students should use one or the other Class Search access points, but avoid using two Class Search sites simultaneously. It is recommended that students use the Class Search features within the My UW Student Center because the Student Center Class Search interacts directly with student course enrollment activities.

Problem Solution

Sign out of the Student Center, log out of MyUW, close all browser(s) and log back in to the My UW Student Center.
