SIS - Class Search: Simultaneous Faculty Login Produces Error

This document explains what needs to be done if there are Connection and Authentication error messages appearing while simultaneously using the Public Access Class Search and SIS or the MyUW Faculty Center Class Search.

The exact same functionality found in Public Access Class Search is also found within SIS Self Service> Class Search or the classsearch.jpg tab within the My UW Faculty Center.

Users may experience problems if attempting to use the Public Access Class Search and SIS or the Faculty Center Class Searches at the same time. Error messages vary depending upon browser, the sequence of the logins and the use of tabs and/or windows.

Avoiding the problem

Individuals should use one or the other Class Search access points, but avoid using two Class Search sites simultaneously.

Problem Solution

Sign out of the Faculty Center, log out of MyUW, close all browser(s) and log back in to either the My UW Faculty Center or SIS.
