eduroam - Windows 10 Setup
This configuration guide will help you connect your Windows 10 device to the eduroam wireless network.
- Windows 10 device with a Wireless Network Connection Adapter.
- Fully scoped NetID (NetID@wisc.edu) and password.
- Click the network icon located on the taskbar.
- A window will open displaying available networks in your area.
- Select eduroam.
- Make sure the “Connect Automatically” box is checked.
- Once you have checked “Connect Automatically” box, click connect.
- A window should appear prompting you to enter your credentials
- In the Username field, enter your NetID fully scoped (NetID@wisc.edu).
- In the Password field, enter your password that is associated with your NetID.
NOTE: If this is the first time you connect your device to Eduroam, Windows 10 might prompt you that it doesn’t recognize your current security certificate. Successfully connecting to Eduroam will automatically add the correct certificate.
You should now be successfully connected to the eduroam wireless network. If you require troubleshooting, please direct your questions to the DoIT Help Desk.
NOTE: If you receive an "Unable to connect" error please try the following steps.
- Open up Command Prompt which you can locate by searching for it in your Windows menu
- Type in the following command exactly how it appears: netsh wlan delete profile name=eduroam
- Repeat the steps in this KB
