Windows 10 - Changing the Default Browser

Edge is set as the default browser in Windows 10. However, you may wish to change the default Microsoft browser from Edge to a different browser, particularly if you encounter issues with certain websites in Edge. This document describes the steps for making this change.

  1. Click on the Start menu, then begin typing default programs; select the Default Programs icon when it appears.

  2. Your current default applications will be shown. Scroll down to bottom until you see Web browser, with the current default being displayed below.

  3. Click on the current default browser to reveal the list of browsers you currently have installed. Select the browser you wish to set as your default. Exit the window when you are done. The next time you click on a hyperlink, it will open in the browser you selected.
