AWS - Backing up AWS resources

Customers who need a backup solution for their EC2 instances in AWS should be able to use any Linux or Windows backup service.

As of August 25th 2021 the cloud team is providing a basic configuration to help you with backing up you EC2 instances.  In US regions we have configured EC2 Lifecycle manager to support tag based snapshots.

Check EC2 console under life cycle manager and you will see the four pre provisioned templates 15day, 30day, 60day, 90day.  If you do not see these in your AWS account and would like this configuration added to your account please contact the Public Cloud team and we will add it.

To use one of these just apply the tag snapshot and the value to the EC2 volume of your instance.
