Captioning - Getting Started (UW-Madison)
This document provides information on UW-Madison's media transcription and captioning services and explains how UW-Madison users can access these services. The contracted captioning services are 3Play Media and Automatic Sync Technologies.
*Note: Kaltura's REACH ASR Machine Captioning functionality is undergoing a rigorous testing and pilot phase authorized by the Learn@UW Executive Committee. While this functionality may become available in the future, currently there is no centrally supported machine captioning functionality.

Further Information, Support, and Creating Accounts
To create an account with Automatic Sync, fill out the CaptionSync State of Wisconsin Post-Secondary Account Sign Up form. After you create an account you will have full access to the CaptionSync Support Center where you can access tutorials. Support for CaptionSync is provided by Automatic Sync. See CaptionSync's Support page for ways you can contact Automatic Sync for support.
To create an account with 3Play Media, fill out the Get Started with a Pro Account form. You will have full access to the 3Play Media's Support where you can access tutorials. Support for 3Play is provided by 3Play itself and no campus entities. Once you have an account with 3Play Media you will be able to submit a request to get support via their online ticketing system.
