Azure - Making a Public IP Address Static

Static public IP addresses can assigned to virtual machines. For details on how to create a new static public IP address or to convert an existing dynamic public IP address to a static public IP address:

IP addresses in Azure

By default, when a virtual machine is created, it will have a dynamic public IP address. To convert an existing public IP from dynamic to static using the Azure portal:
  • Browse to the Public IP address to be updated
  • Switch to the Configuration blade
  • Change the Assignment from Dynamic to Static
  • Click on Save to save the changes
