How to structure an anchor link (creating a durable, unique id)
- Include the name of the tab
- Include the name of the header
- Use Camel Case (i.e. CamelCaseInALine)
- Don't use spaces
- Don't use special characters
FYIs for anchors
- You cannot see an anchor unless in an edit window (Live Guide does not visually depict where anchors exist).
- Anchors will not work correctly if you use a space or special characters in the id.
- Anchors must be unique. If there are multiple anchors using the same id, links will navigate to only one of the anchors.
How to add an anchor on a Guide page or in the Guide content of Lumen proposals
Insert the anchor in front of the text/header. An end user will not see the anchor on the published page.
- Edit the proposal/Guide tab where you want to insert an anchor.
- Navigate to the header where you want to add an anchor. Click in front of the text of the header.
- Click the anchor button, found in the second row of edit tools. A new window will open.
- Enter your durable anchor id. Click the green OK button.
- The Anchor Properties window will close and a book icon will appear where you clicked at the beginning of this tutorial.
- Save your proposal by either clicking the gray OK button (Guide), the floating save button (Lumen Programs), or save proposal at the bottom of the form (Lumen Programs or Lumen Structures).

Current anchor list
Data, Academic Planning & Institutional Research (DAPIR) and the Office of the Registrar (RO) maintain the list of anchor links utilized in Guide at the institutional-level. This means anything utilized on a school/college or program page is not maintained or tracked.
