The L&S Curriculum Audit (DARS) in relation to the Guide

The L&S DARS will adhere to the published requirements listed in the Guide (formerly, Catalog)

Beginning with the 2017-18 academic year, the Guide is the official publication of L&S degree, major and certificate requirements.1

Requirements published in the Guide were approved by the L&S Curriculum Committee and implemented in the campus degree audit system (DARS) for the purpose of advising students and confirming their eligibility for an undergraduate degree, major or certificate award.  All requirements published in the Guide and codified in DARS are approved by L&S Academic Information Management (AIM).

The L&S DARS will adhere to the published requirements listed in the Guide.  Program requirements published on other materials and sites (e.g., departmental websites, advising handouts, etc.) will not be used as the basis for DARS coding or for exceptions to DARS.

L&S academic programs should work with AIM to verify that the expression of program requirements in the Guide is consistent with the auditing of student completion of those requirements in DARS.

1Prior to June 2017, the official source of curriculum information was the Undergraduate Catalog.  The same principle above applies to that publication.
