Concise Adobe & Microsoft Software Licensing Overview

This is a simplified overview of Adobe and Microsoft licensing and software availability at UW-Madison.

Everything not covered under the EES (Visio, Project, Windows Server, SQL Server, System Center, etc)
Method of Distribution Several Office apps have an online version that runs in a browser. NetID login required. NetID login and download of click-to-run installers from O365 portal Download MSI installers from CSL Download installers from CSL Purchase license from Tech Store. Most Select Plus license purchases trigger an email to purchaser that includes link to local MSI installer.
Can be installed on No installation, runs in browser. UW-owned, facstaff-owned, or student-owned machines (up to 5 PCs or Macs, 5 tablets (Windows, iPad, or Android), and 5 phones) Only UW-owned machines Only UW-owned machines Only UW-owned machines (with a few exceptions)
