Cisco VoIP - Customizing options in Jabber Client (Mac)

How to customize your Jabber Client for Mac

Changing Audio Options

Jabber allows you to connect a headset to your computer and use it with your Jabber softphone.
  • Navigate to the menu bar, select the Jabber menu, select Preferences and select the Audio/Video tab.
  • In the drop down, select the devices you wish to use for your Speakers, Microphone and Ringer Alerts.

Adding a Video Camera

Jabber is able to use a built-in or external video camera to add face-to-face communication to all of your audio calls.
  • Navigate to the menu bar, select the Jabber menu, select Preferences and select the Audio/Video tab.
  • Turn your video on and select it from the drop-down menu.

Video Default Action

Jabber video is disabled by default.  You may enable it to auto-start video on calls where video is available, if desired.
  • Navigate to the menu bar, select the Jabber menu, select Preferences and select the Calls tab
  • To change the default behavior, select Always start my calls with video by default
When the box is unchecked, video will not be enabled by default
