Gold Star Honor Roll at Memorial Union

The stories of our nation's service members have been part of the Wisconsin Union's story for generations, beginning with the dedication of the Memorial Union as a memorial to UW-Madison's Civil War and World War I service members.  For many years, the names of those who died in active duty were inscribed in wooden plaques on the walls of the Memorial Union's Memorial Hall.  This is the Gold Star Honor Roll.

In late 2017, the Wisconsin Union will build on the Memorial Union's legacy as a memorial with unveiling of an electronic Gold Star Honor Roll kiosk on the building's second floor. To submit the name of a fallen UW-Madison service member, visit  Names will be collected on a continual basis.
