Learn how to connect Google Apps to Tableau.
What is Tableau?
Tableau is a business intelligence data visualization tool that allows users to interact with data through dynamic and interactive dashboards, maps, and other presentation formats.
Connect Google Apps to Tableau
Currently, individuals who have multiple Office 365 accounts (e.g., service accounts) linked to their NetID are unable to connect Google Apps (e.g., Analytics, Sheets) to Tableau.
When attempting to connect Google Apps to Tableau, Tableau will open a new window and redirect the page to the it.wisc.edu website.
WorkaroundTo circumvent the redirection, you can do the following:
Using the Tableau desktop app, connect a Google App (e.g., Analytics, Sheets) to Tableau.
Enter your NetID and NetID password when presented with the Google login page.
Right-click on your NetID and select Open Link from the list of accounts presented.
Click Allow to authorize Tableau.
Once you perform the steps listed above, Google Apps (e.g., Analytics, Sheets) will successfully connect to Tableau.
