ECMS - Basic Navigation within Perceptive Content Desktop Client (Imaging)

BEFORE THIS STEP: You have logged into Perceptive Content Desktop Client on your Windows' computer. [Refer to ECMS KnowledgeBase document 76451, Log into Perceptive Content Desktop Client (Imaging).]

This document describes basic navigation within Perceptive Content Desktop Client (Imaging) software, by using the Documents and Workflow toolbar items as examples.

Basic Navigation within Perceptive Content Desktop Client

  1. The Perceptive Content Toolbar displays items to which you have access. Your access depends upon your security privileges.
    Note: You may not see all of the buttons or menu items as shown in the screenshots below.

  3. The Documents menu item allows you to display the Perceptive Content Explorer screen where you can search for documents to which you have access.

    a. Click on the Documents button only Documents button to automatically display the Perceptive Content Explorer.
    b. Click on the drop-down arrow icon Drop-down arrow icon next to the Documents button to show a list of available views from which to choose. Select the desired view to display the Perceptive Content Explorer window.

  4. The Perceptive Content Explorer window lets you navigate via the Views pane on the left-hand side.
    a. In the Views pane, click on the plus icon Plus icon to open the desired document view.
    b. To collapse an open document view, click on the minus icon Minus icon .
    c. To close the Perceptive Content Explorer window, from the upper left portion of the window, select File; then choose Close.

  6. The Workflow menu item allows you to display the Perceptive Content Explorer screen and any workflow queues to which you have access.

    a. Click on the Workflow button only Workflow button to automatically display the Perceptive Content Explorer.
    b. Click on the drop-down arrow icon Drop-down arrow icon next to the Workflow button to show a list of available queues and/or sub-queues from which to choose. Select the desired workflow queue to display the Perceptive Content Explorer window.

  7. The Perceptive Content Explorer window lets you navigate via the Views pane on the left-hand side.
    a. In the Views pane, click on the plus icon Plus icon to open the desired Workflow queue.
    b. To collapse an open Workflow queue, click on the minus icon Minus icon.
    c. To close the Perceptive Content Explorer window, from the upper left portion of the window, select File; then choose Close.

  9. To exit (e.g. log out) from the Perceptive Content Desktop client, from the main toolbar, click Connect; then choose Exit.
