Engage - Analytics (UW-Madison)

The Unizin Engage tool will be used for the Spring 2018 UW-Madison eText pilot. If you are not participating in the pilot or taking a class in the pilot you will not have access to Engage. For more information on the pilot please see the Educational Innovation web page.

This document provides basic information on how an instructor can access analytics regarding student reading of eTexts in the Engage platform.

NOTE: Offline-reading, including print or mobile, is not tracked.

Engage analytics offers useful feedback about student eText use. Such information can be helpful in student conferences and/or may help you place and revise classroom activities.

Click on the “View analytics” button under the title of your text to view the analytics for that eText:

An analytics window will open on the reading tab. The reading tab will show you who has accessed the title, including how many and which pages they visited and revisited. The highlights, notes and questions tab will show you how many questions, highlights, and notes they have made. You can export information from either tab as a .CSV file by clicking Export in the upper right of the window.
