WordPress - Adding Users With FERPA Flag
If an admin tries to add a user and can see NetID but no email, there is a good chance that they have a FERPA flag on their NetID.
If an admin tries to add a user and can see the NetID but not an email address, that user may have a FERPA flag on their NetID account. A WordPress administrator will not be able to add the user, and will contact us.
Normal procedure for adding a user is to have that user log in at https://wiscweb.wisc.edu/wp-admin with their NetID and password. That should be the first step for troubleshooting adding a user. If they reply back with information that they still can't add them, we, as superadmins, can add the user for them.
When we add the user, be sure to check the box to not send them an email (this option is not available to site admins - only superadmins). When a user logs in to WiscWeb, it grants the app their consent for their contact information to be stored in the tool.
