Mainframe - No virtual terminal available

This document describes how to proceed when you get an error when attempting to access IMSVS saying "There is no virtual terminal available"

To solve this problem, do the following:

  1. In QWS3270, pull down Options and click Sessions.
  2. Click on Connection in the left sidebar.
  3. Verify that Terminal Type is IBM-3278-2-E.
  4. If it is not, change it to be so and click APPLY and OK.
  5. Log off from the mainframe and close the QWS3270 window.
  6. Start a new QWS3270 session, and log in to IMSVS normally.
