Learn@UW - Maximum Page Size in Views of Gradebook

This document is for Site Administrators only.

The maximum number of records per page for the Standard and Spreadsheet views of a course Gradebook are controlled by the settings of two configuration variables:

MaxRecords for the Standard view
MaxSpreadSheetRecords for the Spreadsheet view

They can be found in the Config Variable Browser tool under

  All Variables -> Tools -> Grades -> GradesList .

They controls the maximum number of cells (grades), not the number of records (rows) that can be displayed on a page in the views.   The number of cells displayed on a page equals the number of columns in the gradebook times the number of rows. The number of columns in the gradebook equals the number of grade items plus the number of grade categories plus two to accommodate the Final Calculate Grade and Final Adjusted Grade.

Note that the actual number of rows displayed per page (except perhaps for the last page) will be limited to the values 10, 20, 50, 100, or 200.

Also, the value 10 will always be allowed regardless of how small the above variable limits are set.
