Bucky on Parade is a free public art event that will bring 85 life-size Bucky Badger statues to the streets of Madison and Dane County May 7–September 12, 2018. Local and regional artists will transform these Bucky statues into unique works of art.
The Madison Area Sports Commission is the producer of the event, with support from the Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau and in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Wisconsin Athletics, and Wisconsin Foundation & Alumni Association. Event proceeds will support Garding Against Cancer, Madison Area Sports Commission, and other community charities.
Bucky on Parade will provide many opportunities for the community to get involved and be a part of the fun, leading up to and during the parade months. Join the Bucky on Parade Fan Club to stay in the loop on event happenings.
The Bucky on Parade statue locations can be found on the interactive map, here. You can see photos of each statue on their website, here. The statues are placed throughout downtown Madison and the UW-Madison campus, as well as some in other areas of Madison and Dane County.
After the parade, statues that are already owned by a sponsor will be cleaned up and moved to their final home with the sponsor. 30 statues will be available for auction at The Bucky on Parade Finale Party on September 29. You can find a list of Buckys that will be going up for auction here. Visit the Finale Party Webpage to learn more about the Finale Party, and to purchase tickets to attend!
